Curriculum:
Second grade is an exciting year for our students. They are continuing to develop their ability to learn to read quickly and accurately, mastering their additions and subtraction facts, and writing complete sentences with correct punctuation.
Science units include: Sound and Light, Science in the Kitchen, Dinosaurs, and The Great Outdoors. In Social Studies we focus on learning about types of communities and how they are the same and different, the difference between wants and needs, how goods are produced, and map skills including studying the continents and landforms.
Highlights of the year include:
- Learning about the life cycle of frogs
- Frog jumping event
- Midelfort Clinic Tour
- Field Trip to the Ice Age Center
- Dinosaur research and report
- Studying the Wisconsin State Symbols
